Jewelry Care
Different materials require different care! Please follow the guides below for the type of jewelry you purchased. (And if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!)
Wood or Acrylic Jewelry
We take pride in the quality of our jewelry, but each piece should be treated with care! Treat your Friendly Folk pieces like a cherished work of art to extend their longevity. Here are our recommendations:
Avoid water:
Avoid water and getting your jewelry wet! Do not swim, bathe, or partake in aquatic activities while wearing your adorable new jewelry.
No cleaners:
Do not use chemical cleaners to clean your jewelry. The paint on our wood earrings can peel, chip, and fade when used with harsh chemicals, and the acrylic material can break.
Clean with a soft cloth:
For best maintenance, wipe with a soft cloth after each wear. Something like a microfiber cloth or eyeglass cleaning cloth is perfect! This will help remove oils and prevent scratches. *Note: Please avoid jewelry polishing cloths since these contain chemicals that will remove the plating on your jewelry! (Polishing cloths are for non-plated tarnishing metals like sterling silver or solid gold.)
Avoid sweat:
Limit wear during physical activity, including workouts, sports, or hot weather activities. Sweat can tarnish the metals in jewelry! If you do happen to sweat, just be sure to clean your jewelry with a soft cloth after wearing.
Store properly:
Keep your jewelry in a clean, dry place when not in use.
Careful with cosmetics:
Allow moisturizers, perfumes, or any skin products to absorb fully before putting on jewelry to minimize residue and extend the longevity of your piece.
Metal Jewelry
All of our metal jewelry is durable and waterproof! (If you’re unsure if your piece is waterproof, please check the product description!) To extend the longevity of your piece, still aim to take care in the following ways:
No cleaners:

FAQs
Are Friendly Folk earrings okay for sensitive ears?
Yes! As a sensitive ear lady myself, I made it a priority that each earring finding is high-quality and okay for sensitive ears—but everyone’s ears and skin are different. Note the materials used to understand what works for you!
We use silver or gold plated stainless steel on our wood and acrylic jewelry, which is suitable for most delicate lobes. Our fully metal earrings are made of high-quality stainless steel, plated with either rhodium or 14k gold, using a PVD plating process for durability.
Please note that small amounts of nickel are used in stainless steel, which highly sensitive folks may react to. See product descriptions for further specifications on materials.
Can I change my order after placing it?
Unfortunately we are unable to change your order after it is placed. Please double-check your order details before finalizing, as modifications cannot be made once the transaction is complete!
When will my order be shipped?
We aim to ship your order within 2 business days. Please note that processing times may vary based on order volume. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information once your order has shipped.
What is your return policy?
Earrings: We cannot accept returns on earrings. For hygiene and safety considerations, once earrings have been worn or opened, they cannot be resold or reused. If your product arrives damaged, we are happy to refund or replace your purchase! If you have any questions or concerns about your purchase, please feel free to reach out to us at support@friendly-folk.com, or by using the contact form.
Any other jewelry & products: We accept returns or exchanges within 30 days of purchase, provided the items are unopened and unworn. Please ensure that the original packaging is intact for a smooth return process.
